Xeomin® / Jeuveau®
Perhaps you have heard about BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® for the reduction and smoothing of forehead wrinkles and folds. But have you heard of XEOMINⓇ or Jeuveau®? Both of these FDA-approved injectables are designed to reduce and smooth the appearance of “dynamic” frown lines that develop over time from squinting and frowning. Dr. Donn Chatham will discuss which of these products is best for you.
- XEOMINⓇ is comprised of botulinum toxin (incobotulinumtoxinA) which is used to temporarily help correct moderate to severe wrinkles and age lines found between the eyebrows.
- Jeuveau® (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) is a prescription medicine used to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines) in adults.

What Is Jeuveau®?
Jeuveau® is an alternative to other neurotoxins such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin®. As with the other FDA-approved neurotoxins, Jeuveau® works by stopping the signals from your nerves that tell your muscles to contract thereby, resulting in the temporary reduction or smoothing of the appearance of folds, furrows, wrinkles, and lines, specifically those that are most visible on your forehead.
The active ingredient in Jeuveau® is a clinically tested and proven muscle-relaxing substance called botulinum toxin. Jeuveau® is manufactured with Evolus’s Hi-Pure™ Technology. This enables the product longevity to surpass other neurotoxin products with longer-lasting and more effective results. Following your injections, Jeuveau® patients can return to their daily activities.
What Is Xeomin®?
Xeomin® is an alternative to other neurotoxins such as BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®. Neurotoxins, such as Xeomin®, are prescription medications that block the release of chemicals that cause these muscle contractions, so frown lines are softened. Xeomin® is different as a precision manufacturing process called XTRACT Technology™ is used resulting in a double filtered neurotoxin. Xeomin® results can last up to six months. Following your injections, Xeomin® patients can return to their daily activities.
